KPI In The Spotlight: The Power of Partnerships

Clare Furlonger

Carl Quested, Author, Speaker and Founder of AgentMail a company that specialises in assisting real estate agents with their marketing has sealed the deal with a new client worth $250K p.a, of whom he was introduced thanks to the forming of a partnership.

Naturally, we wanted in on the deets, so here Carl shares his step by step approach to creating a successful partnership, as well as how to make the most of the benefits partnerships offer.

WHATS THE BIG WIN?

Through a partnership we have created with a real estate CRM, weve secured a new client that is worth around $250k p.a. to our business.

GIVE US THE NITTY GRITTY, HOW DYA DO IT?

It has definitely been a layered approach. First, we formed a partnership with a real estate CRM back in July of 2014. In November 2014 my book came back from the printers, and I ensured that all the heads of the real estate groups received copies. The real estate company in question, had been aware of us through my book launch, and had begun vetting our partner to use as their CRM. When they heard about the link between us, we got to sit down and see how we could work together.

WHAT FUELLED YOUR DECISION TO FIND AND SECURE A PARTNERSHIP?

Lack of budget! I realised on partnership day of the programme, that it was going to be too hard and too expensive to grow my business without reaching out and creating partnerships with those that were already in touch with my potential customers.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN A PARTNERSHIP IS SUITED TO YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS?

It needs to feel right. For me its all about feeling. You need to be able to sit down and have a good conversation with the person, not just about business. In my case with my partnership, we got on really well, and our attitudes to the industry, business and life were totally in sync.

WHAT ARE YOUR 5 ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR OTHERS ON SECURING A PARTNERSHIP?

Always trust your gut

Make sure that BOTH parties benefit from the partnership

Get a proper written agreement

Nurture the partnership keep in touch, ask them how you can do more

Make sure you celebrate your joint wins

WHAT IS YOUR ONE KEY LEARNING ABOUT PARTNERSHIPS?

Partnerships take time to bed in be open and honest from the outset and make sure that you are in constant communication. Also, remember that their business goals are their own, and there will be times that you need to have a frank conversation, and sometimes walk away. Thats why a good agreement is important.

How long does it take to complete KPI?

The programme is built around a 12-month foundation year. This is the time it takes to build your full authority ecosystem. From there, many clients continue to compound their results year on year. Within 24 hours of joining, you'll get full access to the KPI platform. In your first week, you'll attend a group onboarding session where you'll learn how to navigate the platform, access your resources, subscribe to our event calendars, and book into your first Value Canvas Kickoff.

How long has Dent been doing this?

Over 5,500 businesses across 60+ industries in EMEA, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific have gone through our accelerators.

What is your mission?

Our mission is to produce Key People of Influence who stand out, scale up, and make an impact in the world.

What makes this different from programmes?

The biggest difference is that KPI is a production environment, not a course. You don't watch videos and hope something sticks. You build 15-17 real assets of influence — your book, your scorecard, your productised offer, your lead generation system — in structured 10-day sprints with live coaching. Every asset goes to market as you build it. Real feedback, real results, real revenue impact. And you're doing it alongside 5,500+ founders who've been through the same methodology.

Is Daniel Priestley involved in the programme?

Yes! Daniel is our CEO and Cofounder. He is one of the key minds behind every aspect of the KPI Accelerator. He occasionally runs workshops himself.
