“Your value does not decrease based upon someone’s inability to see your worth.”

It’s a nice idea but it’s not actually true especially when it comes to business.

In the real world, if someone doesn’t see your worth, they don’t buy from you or hire you. If they don’t see your worth they shop around, they negotiate on price they ask for free services.

In the real world, no one cares about how much value you place on yourself – they care about how much value they can recognise.

Fortunately, you are in control of what people can see. You have the power to pitch yourself more powerfully, you have the power to publish content that demonstrates value, to create and package products that solve meaningful problems, to show up more prominently online/offline and to build great partnerships with other influencers in business.

You have the power to make it easy for people to see your worth. The common problem is that you know all your stories, you know your qualifications, you know what makes you credible and reliable. You also know people in your industry who have similar attributes so you don’t bother talking about it.

There’s a part of us all that feels we shouldn’t have to tell people all this stuff in order for them to feel secure in buying from us – they should just ‘get it’ without the fanfare, right?

But it’s not about you.

If a person is going to choose you as their supplier they have every right to know what makes you credible, reliable, clear, opinionated, driven or valuable. You owe it to them, to share that stuff so they can make an informed decision. There’s no point being highly valuable and keeping it a mystery. People are busy, they are distracted, they aren’t mind-readers.

Don’t make it hard for people to discover how you can transform their world – make it patently obvious. Share more of your stories, more of your ideas, more of your opinions and more demonstrations of what your business can offer.

Your value DOES decrease based on someones inability to see your worth.
